Off CPAP and loving it :)
Sleeping holding Daddy's hand :)
And sleeping holding Mummy's hand...
Back on CPAP after an hour off... 333 weeks corrected age. She weighs 1360grams and is still on CPAP, we got a lovely surprise when we came into the nursery today. Amelia was being prepared to be trialled off CPAP. She still needs oxygen at the moment so was given prongs but heaps thinner than the cpap tube.
She cooed really well off cpap. They only trial her off for an hour at a time. Her respiration rate was a bit high which means that she was taking fast shallow breaths instead of long deep ones. Her lungs are still quite small though. She does have to work hard to maintain her breathing and sometimes she forgets or holds her breath, but that's a premmie thing and is to be expected.
I hope tomorrow is like today and they keep cycling her off cpap. She hates the hat and prongs and when the nurses put it back on after cares she has a big tanty.
ETA - just called the nursery they have decided to keep her on continuous CPAP until tomorrow. I will update with any news. For now off to express, and then BED :) Night xox
